When I was searching for my ancestors and relatives in Herwijnen, Gelderland, the Netherlands, I found that so many of these people were related to me that I decided to extract all the Church and Vital Records that were available on Herwijnen. I finished that project about fifteen years ago and sent all the information I had in to the Ancestral File of the Family History Center in Salt Lake City. Those records are available there now - but since that time I've added another 6000 names to this database - from Haaften, Nieuwaal, Tuil, etc. And some from the U.S., those people who had ties with Herwijnen. I've included this record here.

Many Herwijnen residents emigrated to the United States of America. One of the places they moved to was Pella, Iowa - a truly unique city. My husband Bob and I visited there some years ago - it seemed almost more dutch in character than the Netherlands. Find out more about this delightful place, Pella.
